MINDFULNESS, sustainability and practical family living feature in new show homes in Catterall, Lancashire.

Showcasing the lifestyle on offer and providing interior inspiration, two show homes are now open at Cross Fields, an Anwyl Homes development.

Viewing the properties and visiting the high-tech sales centre featuring virtual reality technology will offer buyers a truly immersive experience.

Anwyl area sales manager Imogen Suffell said: “We recognise that while virtual reality can help people appreciate the scale of a development and where their new home will be situated, nothing quite beats the real thing. With the help of Show Business Interiors, we’ve created two show homes to demonstrate what life could be like in a new build home in Catterall.

“We imagined a young family, perhaps first time buyers, living in the Bretton; while the neighbouring Appleton has been styled with a more mature purchaser in mind, perhaps with a child in their late teens who will soon be going to university or flying the nest completely.”

In the Bretton, the designers have balanced juxtaposing colours including blue hues, blush pinks and warm neutrals to convey a fresh, contemporary feel.

Sian Jenkins, client relationship director at Show Business Interiors, explained: “Homeowners are digressing from the grey, monochrome interiors we’ve seen in recent years and becoming bolder when it comes to the use of colours. The colours within the Bretton create a welcoming, serene feeling, almost hugging the guests as they walk in, while adding character, personality and vitality.

“In the kitchen-dining room we’ve placed real children’s artwork, kindly provided by the children of our team for authenticity, alongside a beautiful canvas. Together with the mini play kitchen this highlights how this home is designed for family living.”

In the Appleton, olive tones with golden accents and warm neutrals have been used to convey a sense of welcoming.

“Sustainability remains a necessity in 2023 and will become pivotal when people are designing their homes. The earthy tones and printed wallpaper in the Appleton reinforce the idea of being at one with nature. A post-pandemic feeling we continue to crave and now recognise the importance of,” Sian added.

The living room has been beautifully styled to incorporate a range of textures and printed designs to add depth and dimension.

Upstairs, a plush green headboard and fern-engraved wooden bedside tables in the main bedroom evoke a wholesome, comforting environment. Furnishings including a glass-table dresser add a touch of elegance and glamour.

“In addition to home offices, we’re also seeing a rise in hobby or craft rooms; a space created where people can escape from the hectic nature of everyday life to enjoy their hobbies” Sian added.

“The third bedroom in the Appleton has been styled with a sewing corner, which is a lovely, mindful space to relax in. It’s filled with textures of rattan and includes a woven feature wall, luxurious waffle bedding and textured cushions, which echo the theme of wellbeing and comfort.”

In both show homes the designers have had some fun with styling the cloakrooms – using swimming themed wallpaper in the Bretton, while sausage dogs feature in the Appleton.

Current availability at Cross Fields includes a choice of three and four-bedroom detached homes, with prices from £224,995. Some of the four-bedroom properties are almost ready to move into.

Located just off the A6, homes at Cross Fields will enjoy a rural village setting with a real sense of community with the chance to live an idyllic lifestyle.

The local farm shop offers somewhere close to home to stock up on essentials.

Beacon Retail Park, featuring a Co-op Food convenience store, Italian restaurant, coffee shop, dessert bar and beauty salon, is around a 10-minute walk away; while Garstang, home to Booths and Sainsbury’s supermarkets and a weekly outdoor market, is easily reached. There are pubs, restaurants and farm shops aplenty in the surrounding villages.

Show homes at Cross Fields are open Thursday to Monday from 10am to 5.30pm. For more information see www.anwylhomes.co.uk/crossfields.
