Local housebuilder, Barratt Developments Yorkshire West has raised an impressive £5,652 in support of a variety of local homeless charities, as part of the Leeds CEO Sleepout.

Eight team members from Barratt Developments Yorkshire West gathered at Elland Road Stadium on Thursday 19th October to brave Storm Babet for the Leeds CEO Sleepout, raising funds and awareness for homelessness across West, South and North Yorkshire.

The funds raised by the Yorkshire West team were matched by Barratt Developments PLC resulting in a total of more than £11,300 raised for Staying Put, an organisation supporting women who find themselves homeless due to domestic violence, and other local charities on the frontline of homelessness in West Yorkshire.

The CEO Sleepout is a national charity aiming to bring together business leaders to make a stand against homelessness, raising vital funds for frontline services that help change the lives of those facing homelessness.

Mark Davis, Technical Director of Barratt Developments Yorkshire West, commented: “Our eight-strong team is delighted to have been a part of the CEO Sleepout at Elland Road, especially during one of the biggest storms of the year, giving us even more food for thought for the homeless.

“With the wind and rain pouring over the Stadium it was a difficult night for us but it was all worth it to raise such vital funds and awareness for homeless charities across Leeds and the surrounding areas.

“This was an extremely important event for our team at Barratt Developments Yorkshire West to take part in and we give special thanks to everyone for their support and generous donations throughout.”

Bianca Robinson, CEO at CEO Sleepout, said: “I was thrilled to see the Barratt Homes team rally to spend the night outdoors and brave Storm Babet at Leeds United FC.

“We're aiming to smash through the £30,000 mark from this year's event, funds that will support the vital work of our beneficiaries as well as our national campaign.

“CEO Sleepout brings business leaders together to make a stand against homelessness. We do this by holding CEO Sleepout events in cities the length of the UK, from Northumberland to Portsmouth and everywhere in between, raising funds that make a real difference to people facing homelessness in our host cities.

“To date, we’ve raised a phenomenal £4 Million pounds from over 6000 participants, and donated money to over 200 hard-working charities on the frontline of homelessness, changing countless lives.”
