A MOVE to one of the final new homes in Glastonbury could mean a warmer winter and lower energy bills. Elan Homes has just six properties to sell at its popular Avalon development on Old Wells Road.

Among those available is the Russett Special, which will be ready to move into this autumn.

Elan regional sales director Tracey Ball said: “Building work on the final phase of Avalon is progressing well. We anticipate that homes currently on release should be build complete this autumn – just in time for homeowners to appreciate the benefits of owning an energy efficient new home. Research by the HBF found that a new house is 64% more efficient than an older one with monthly energy bills of just £105. Over the course of a year, a new house is £2,200 cheaper to run than and older one and that’s not taking into account repairs and renovations those who buy a pre-owned property are likely to need to budget for.

“Our new homes achieve a minimum EPC rating of B. This means they’re among the most efficient available and makes them eligible for green mortgages. These are available from selected lenders and tend to offer more favourable rates than some more traditional mortgages.”

The Russett Special is available from £380,000.

It offers a flexible solution to modern living, with rooms that can be easily adapted to suit your lifestyle. The dual aspect, open plan kitchen, dining and family room spans from the front to the rear of the property and is certain to be a hive of activity and the hub of the home. It’s complemented by a separate lounge, which benefits from French doors opening directly onto the rear garden.

“There’s also a room that could be a formal dining room, a study, playroom for the children, a guest bedroom, gym or a combination of these – it’s entirely your choice as to how you use the space,” Tracey added.

A cloakroom, with shower, completes the ground floor.

Upstairs, there are two bedrooms, one with en-suite, plus a family bathroom.

“Effectively, the main bathroom serves the second bedroom,” Tracey said.

The other homes on the second and final phase of Avalon include a choice of four-bedroom designs, with prices from £395,000 to £475,000.

They are being built less than 10 miles from Worthy Farm, home of Glastonbury Festival.

Glastonbury Tor offers a chance to explore the outdoors, including a butterfly trail, there’s also the historic abbey, plus all the amenities people want from a neighbourhood including restaurants and gastro pubs, high street stores, quirky independents and a regular market.

The sales office at Avalon is open Thursday to Monday from 10am to 5pm. For more information about the homes at Avalon see https://www.elan-homes.co.uk/developments/avalon.
