This month, David Wilson Homes unveiled its latest two show homes at Richmond Park in Whitfield, Dover. Having launched earlier this year, the development comprises three to four-bedroom homes, with 40 acres of green open space surrounded by the countryside of Kent. Local buyers are actively invited to make an appointment with a member of the sales team or to view either of the two show homes over the summer.

Both show homes are designed to appeal to young professional couples and families to demonstrate the wider lifestyle at Richmond Park. The Greenwood, which is a three-bedroom home, incorporates contemporary design features which reflect modern needs. Split over three levels, the show home has been designed to maximise and create separate living zones featuring a dining room, study and kitchen on the bottom floor, a lounge and bedroom to the middle, and two bedrooms on the top. This show home would perfectly appeal to young professionals with the incorporation of a study designed for working from home needs.

The Ingleby encompasses early family life with a modern twist. Its Scandinavian design enhances the simplicity of the house type and creates space for family activities. The bottom floor offers a spacious kitchen diner with French patio doors to the garden, with a lounge to the front and separate storage cupboards to avoid clutter. The top floor has four bedrooms and one en-suite, with one bedroom offering the opportunity for a work from home space.

Andrew Henry, Director at Andrew Henry Interiors comments: “These homes are designed to cater to modern family’s needs and young professional’s lifestyle. Our goal was to allow buyers to envisage themselves living in these homes from the moment they step into the show homes, knowing that they have enough space and flexibility to make it their own. We chose a fairly neutral colour palette to ensure the properties feel fresh and light throughout - The Greenwood boasts a monochrome base with tan accents, and The Ingleby presents a white base with mint and lilac accents, both creating a calming but inspiring feel for potential buyers to get their creative flair in motion.”

Visitors to the brand-new show homes at Richmond Park can find out more about David Wilson Kent’s sustainable construction measures and energy efficient design, including fuel-efficient boilers and high levels of insulation which ensure that a new David Wilson home is up to 63% cheaper to run than the same sized older home with modern day improvements. As such, new homeowners at Richmond Park could save up to £2,600 on their energy bills each year[1]. Furthermore, the wider development at Richmond Park supports a sustainable community through resident allotments,120 bird and bat boxes, and two dedicated biodiversity areas.

Natalie Perry, Sales and Marketing Director at David Wilson Kent, comments: “Flexible and spacious homes are often at the top of buyer’s needs, and we feel that our two new show homes of The Ingleby and The Greenwood perfectly reflect this. Being three and four-bedroom homes with ample space for studies, lounges and dining rooms, the possibilities are endless to fit with a wide pool of buyers and different lifestyle needs.

“We also understand that the housing market is posing challenges surrounding affordability at the moment, therefore at David Wilson Kent we have introduced a number of measures to help buyers in Dover and further afield. All homes come with heightened energy efficiency as standard, but we also offer our Deposit Unlock scheme which allows buyers to purchase with just a 5% deposit[2], and we have also recently announced the extension of our Key Worker Deposit Contribution scheme which is available until 15th December 2023 and offers a £1,000 contribution for every £20,000 of a purchase price[3].”

Richmond Park is located in the historic town of Whitfield, on the outskirts of Dover. The development is also home to a flourishing community, with a new primary school and convenience store onsite. Local amenities include a village hall, local pubs and cafes, and a post office, and further afield is the Honeywood Retail park.

Just a short drive away is Dover, where residents can enjoy coastal walks along the famous white cliffs, and reach the continent in ease from the ferry port.

Richmond Park provides easy access to the A2, connecting residents to key locations including Dover, Canterbury and other major Kent towns. Dover Priory is also nearby, offering high speed services to London St Pancras in just 73 minutes. For those looking to travel further afield, Richmond Park is a short drive to the ferry port, with access to the continent within 90 minutes.
