National planning consultancy Boyer (part of Leaders Romans Group) has secured reserved matters approval on behalf of Vistry Southern and Countryside Partnerships Southern for 482 homes, of which 12.8% is affordable housing, at Curbridge (located between Southampton and Portsmouth). The planning approval was awarded by Winchester City Council.

Located on Botley Road, the new development will form part of the North Whiteley Urban Extension.

When complete, North Whiteley will provide up to 3,500 homes, two primary schools, a secondary school, retail and community centre and significant highway improvements. It has been carefully designed to fit within the existing landscape and includes large retained areas of woodland and open space.

Work has already started on earlier phases of the North Whiteley development and this recent reserved matters approval will bring forward a further, substantial, new phase.

Joseph Hickling, Senior Planner in Boyer’s Wokingham office said, “We are very pleased to have worked alongside the project team and officers over a relatively short timescale to have secured Reserved Matters approval for this well-balanced scheme.  The development works very well in integrating with the rich surrounding natural environment - mature woodland and large swathes of ‘blue’ landscaping – while also implementing community-focussed urban areas.”

Boyer works closely with Vistry both as a planning consultancy and also in having an Associate Director from its Wokingham office working directly for Vistry Thames Valley on a part-time basis.
