The first phase of a bespoke new housing development in the popular St. Leonards area of Exeter has launched.

The significant development of St. Leonards Quarter – Acorn Property Group’s first Exeter based project – will see 146 new open market and affordable homes brought to the area.

Situated less than a mile outside of the city centre, the development is designed for first time buyers, professionals, families and downsizers, and has already received extremely high levels of interest from potential buyers.

The properties, which range from one to five–bedroom houses and apartments, will be built to an EPC-B energy rating with sustainable features such as high-performance triple glazed windows to improve energy efficiency as well as cutting running costs.

The first homes to be released in phase one will be a range of 1-and 2-bedroom apartments, with prices starting from £245,000 and featuring high-quality specification, open plan living, communal bike storage and private outdoor space.

Ed Lewis, Regional Director of Acorn’s Exeter region said, “We are excited to be unveiling our first Exeter based development and to bring almost 150 homes to the city. There is nothing like what we are offering this close to Exeter city centre.

“St. Leonards Quarter is not just a cookie cutter housing development. At Acorn, there are no standard house type designs and the decisions we make are design led. That way we ensure all our developments are specifically tailored for the location of the properties and demographic of residents”.

The plans come at a time of rapid population growth in Exeter, with the ONS reporting a rise in population of 11.1% over ten years to 2021. This is significantly higher than the national average of 6.6%, highlighting a surge in the city’s popularity and the South West in general.

Lewis continues, “There is significant demand for new housing across Devon. With the scenic and peaceful setting combined with the proximity to the city centre and good transport links, St. Leonards Quarter is certainly an attractive option for buyers”.

A Show Apartment will be available to view from the 5th November via booked appointments, and will be open seven days a week from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm for prospective buyers to see what St Leonards Quarter has to offer.
