5 star homebuilder, Barratt Developments Yorkshire West has teamed up with pupils from Waverley Junior Academy who have created some celebratory posters to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee.

Pupils from Waverley Junior Academy were tasked with creating posters to congratulate Her Majesty on the 70th Anniversary of her reign, with the winning design then displayed in the windows of Sales Offices at Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes developments across West and South Yorkshire.

The winning design was created by a Year 6 pupil who perfectly encapsulated Her Majesty and her beloved Corgi and is now on display in Sales Offices across the region.

To further celebrate the 70th anniversary of The Queen’s reign, Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes has planted over 1,500 trees in communities across Britain. The Jubilee Big Tree Plant sees the country’s largest housebuilder plant trees to recognise the Queen’s wish to create a legacy for future generations. Barratt Homes has also become a long-term partner of the Royal Horticultural Society, whose patron is the Queen. Barratt Homes, which was named Sustainable House Builder of the Year, will sponsor the water feature within the show-shopping Paradise Garden at RHS Bridgewater in Salford, the first urban garden created by the RHS.

On the activity, Claire Rose, Assistant Vice Principal at Waverley Junior Academy said: “Our children were delighted to be invited to take part in this fun activity, especially after so many of them have just completed their SATs. The winning design was a fantastic representation of Her Majesty and the celebrations that we all took part in during the Bank Holiday weekend!”

Ian Ruthven, Managing Director of Barratt Developments Yorkshire West said: “We are delighted to work with Waverley Junior Academy on this Jubilee activity. We were really impressed with the designs that were submitted and hope that everyone had a fantastic Jubilee weekend!”
