THE scarcest of new builds, the bungalow, is among the homes available in Abberley as Elan Homes does its level best to provide a diverse range of housing options.

Offering everything from two-bedroom bungalows to substantial five-bedroom family homes, the mix of properties at Three Js is perhaps surprising given the intimate nature of the development on Clows Top Road, which once complete will comprise just 26 homes.

Demand for the largest family-sized homes is high, with many of those already sold or the subject of “early bird” reservations in line with the build programme.

Current availability includes a choice of two and three-bedroom homes, including a rare chance to own a brand new bungalow.

Elan regional sales director Tracey Ball said: “When we plan developments, we think about what else is available locally and how we can help address housing shortages by providing the homes people want and need. When people see the site plan for Three Js they’re taken aback by the range of properties we’re building given the size and scale of the development. They’re also surprised that there’s a bungalow here as they’re so rare and often only built within retirement schemes, as social housing or for people with a disability.

“The reality is that a bungalow is a versatile option that can suit a range of buyers and their living arrangements, not just retirees. Plus, because they’re in such short supply it could be a good investment for the future as bungalows tend to hold their value well and can experience faster growth than other types of property.”

A two-bedroom Haywood style bungalow at Three Js is currently available from £310,000. A charming, traditional looking home from the outside, inside it’s designed to meet the demands of modern living with a carefully planned layout and high specification interior.

The Haywood offers 635 sq ft of living space including a lounge at the front, combined kitchen and dining room with French doors opening out on to the rear garden, two bedrooms and a bathroom.

“A bungalow offers a similar layout and lifestyle to an apartment, with a couple of crucial difference – you have your own garden and there are no neighbours above or below,” Tracey added.

“The Hayward is a great option for buyers who don’t need two bedrooms but perhaps work from home as the second bedroom could be used as a study. It’s also a perfect property for those starting a family or with a little one already as it means there are no stairs to worry about. Or of course, it’s an option for downsizers who want room for the grandchildren to stay over.”

Homes at Three Js enjoy a leafy setting, with more than 40% the development being given to open green space including a wildflower meadow and a central community orchard.

The homes are being built only a short drive away from the Malvern Hills and the spa town of Malvern, and close to Stourport-on-Severn, Bewdley and Kidderminster.
